Card Project using JACQUARD DYE-NA-FLOW PAINTS
Equipment needed for this project. Highlighted equipment is available on this site - Just follow the links
1 Fold the A4 Black Card in half and run the bone folder along the folded edge to give a good crease.
2 Paint the sheet of white paper with Dye-Na-Flow using your wider paint brush, applying broad bands of colour. Allow the colours to blend together at the edges of the bands. While the paint is still wet use the fine paint brush to apply further colour stripes on top of the broads stripes going in the same direction. Allow the paint to dry.

3 Prepare your embossed motif. Ink up your chosen stamp with Versamark. Use the inked stamp to print the image onto the cut off of black card.
Sprinkle the metallic gold embossing powder over the stamped image making sure it is completely covered. Gently shake off the excess embossing powder over the tidy tray. You can then pour the excess embossing powder back into the jar for use on another project.
.
Using the heat tool, melt the embossing powder on the black card to reveal your stamped image. Cut to required size.
4 When your painted paper is dry cut a broad, vertical strip to fit the front of your card. Make your strip slightly narrower than your card front so that there is a gap of about 2-3cm at either side and make it slightly shorter than your card so that there is a gap at the top and the bottom of about 1cm.
Use the remaining painted paper to cut narrow strips for weaving into the broad strip. Make the narrow strips about 1 to 1.5cms wide and the same length as the broad strip. You can cut them down to the right length later.

Cut a row of slots into the broad strip of paper. Do this on the left hand side of the strip going from top to bottom. Make the slots about the same width as your narrow strips (1 to 1.5cm) Leave a space of about 2 inches between each slot. You should be able to fit about 4 in a vertical row. Do the same on the right hand side.
Rotate your broad strip and repeat the process cutting 4 rows of slots horizontally into your strip, this time leaving about a 1 inch gap between each slot. Weave your thin strips in and out of the slots to achieve your desired pattern and trim the thin strips to the length you require.
5 Apply your embossed image onto your painted panel using double sided tape and then apply the panel in the same way to your
folded black card.
6 Finish your design by adding spot highlights using the gold Liquid Pearls Paint. As the liquid pearl paint dries the gold colour will develop.

Dye-Na-Flow paints can be used in a similar way on fabrics. Try them on Silk, Cotton or Craft Vilene. Have fun and experiment!
